Our Mission

As a non-profit organization we rely on corporate support for the majority of our programs. Any contribution on the behalf of corporate support, would not only be highly appreciated by our organization, but would also be a tax-deductible item for your company, as the Latino Children’s Fund is a 501(C) 3, non-profit organization (Federal Tax ID #83-1537735). Furthermore, we would give mention to the corporate support and generosity in our quarterly newsletter, which reaches thousands of families as well as consumers throughout the Latino community.

95% of the children who attend our learning center for tutoring are from economically disadvantaged families, and all are attending our program for free. The children who attend our program were previously performing below grade-level standards, but after going through our program the children who matriculate show drastic improvements in not only their schoolwork but also their self-esteem. We would love to keep up this improvement for these children as they work hard to improve themselves, but in order to do so we need tools, volunteers and support.

Statement of Purpose

The Latino Children’s Fund (LCF) 501 C (3) was founded in May 1997, to serve Latino children. The specific purpose of this California non-profit corporation is to inform Latino parents on issues involving child rearing, literacy, K-12 education, health, finance, and other issues. The goal of LCF is for Latino children to grow up healthy and achieve their full potential.

The primary means for accomplishing the goal of this California non-profit corporation is to serve as an advocacy resource by conducting parenting seminars, providing guidance, and information on issues affecting Latino children, and by producing a quarterly periodical entitled Latino Parenting.

We are looking forward to achieving the following tasks:
• Latino parenting workshops on K-12 education and literacy
• The establishment of a mini think-tank to deal with important
Latino children and parenting issues
• LCF Gala “To Help Our Children” Awards Banquet
• Mediation for Latino families
• Food Drive and Giveaway
• The establishment of a tutoring center for young children
• The creation of a public service announcement for LCF.
